APOPKA, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Source: OCSO // OCSO Homicide detectives have arrested two people in connection with the case that resulted in the stabbing death of Hope Garcia the morning of July 7, 2019. They are:
Stephen Trimble (DOB: 10/22/1986) and Nikkela Mitchell (DOB: 09/04/1993)
Both face charges of Second Degree Felony Murder and Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling with Battery Therein.
The investigation revealed that on July 7, Trimble, Mitchell and Garcia arrived together at the residence on Central Avenue and Mitchell and Garcia began battering the female inside the home. The person inside the home was the ex-girlfriend of Trimble. During the altercation, Garcia became armed with a knife. The resident of the home armed herself with a knife and stabbed Garcia. Trimble and Mitchell fled and Garcia was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
At this time it appears the female inside of the home acted in self-defense, and she is currently facing no criminal charges.
