KISSIMMEE, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Political newcomer and businessman Andrew Jeng is already rolling up his sleeves, knocking on doors, meeting with donors, getting his name out there to become Florida’s first Chinese American elected to public office.
For Jeng, the road to the Kissimmee City Commission starts now.
Jeng recently kicked off his campaign for Kissimmee City Commissioner, Seat 2, currently held by Vice-Mayor and City Commissioner Wanda Rentas, who can not run for reelection due to term limits. However, Rentas has filed paperwork with the Osceola County Supervisor of Election office to run for Osceola County Commissioner in 2018.
Jeng announced during his campaign kickoff that he picked up endorsements from State Representative John Cortez and Osceola County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor Deborah Livingston, as well as business owners and community leaders.
According to the Osceola County Supervisor of Elections office, the primary election day is August 28, 2018 and the general election day is November 6, 2018.
