VIDEO: NJ Woman With Hammer Traumatizes Her Kids As She Smashes Ex’s Car Windows In Jealous Rage

PATERSON, NJ (FNN NEWS) – As the saying goes, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” A video released Sunday shows two young children screaming and crying in horror as a Paterson, NJ woman–their mother–used a hammer to smash out the windows of her ex’s Range Rover while they sat in the backseat. The disturbing nature of the video begs several important questions.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED BETWEEN THEM?

While vandalizing an ex’s vehicle is no foreign concept (see Carrie Underwood’s 2005 GRAMMY Award-winning anthem “Before He Cheats” or Jazmine Sullivan’s “Bust Your Windows” for example), said vandalism is usually executed with just the ex in the vehicle, or, for dramatic effect, with the ex totally unaware and consequently gutted at sight of the carcass of his or her former chariot.

However, in this instance, the woman was so infuriated she vandalized her ex’s SUV with her own children still seated inside. What circumstances between these two would drive her to this level of fury that even the children’s safety no longer mattered? What was the nature of their relationship prior to this incident? Was he abusive to her? Were they both abusive?

The Daily Mail reported that the woman acted in a jealous rage, but more still needs to be known about what happened.

Furthermore, she was so angry, the fact that he was recording the video didn’t dissuade her in any way, despite the possibility of her arrest since her smiling face is visible as she smashed the vehicle’s side view mirror.

IS THIS A CUSTODY BATTLE GONE AWRY?

By the video’s end, the mother takes the children out of her ex’s vehicle and puts them into hers, which begs the question of custody. Who has legal custody of the children? Did one wrongly take them?

HOW WILL THE CHILDREN FARE AFTER THIS?

Because of how blinding anger can be, consequences tend to be an afterthought. The children witnessed their mother, normally a symbol of love and security in their lives, smash all of the SUV windows out, which caused them to cry in terror. However, at the 0:50 mark, it appears that the woman might also have struck the man with the hammer as well, and the children wailed even more loudly, calling out “Daddy!” and “Papi!”

Additionally, when she takes her daughter near the end of the video, there appears to be a fresh cut on the child’s left arm (below) from the shards of glass flying into the vehicle (second below). While that cut is small and will heal soon enough, it is still cause for alarm.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

No matter how one slices this, it will likely not end well. The woman was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, domestic violence and criminal mischief, according to NorthJersey.com.

Therefore, the mother will now be separated from her children. Plus, as mentioned above, the children are now traumatized. Any remaining consequences can only be speculated, but these three alone are enough to shake their lives to the core. Stay tuned here for updates.
