JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan issued a statement on the deadly shooting at the “Madden NFL 19” video game tournament at GLHF Game Bar at the Jacksonville Landing Sunday.
“It’s impossible to comprehend today’s news. I am heartbroken for the family and friends of the victims and can only express my deepest condolences as we try to understand why and how this can happen, not only here, but anywhere. What I can say is I know today what lifelong Jacksonville residents have known forever — we are resilient, compassionate, and remarkably supportive of our neighbors and friends, particularly in the most trying occasions. CBS News reports that three people were killed, including the shooter, and 11 were injured–2 of which sustained injuries as they fled the scene.
The NFL also issued a statement saying the league is “shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific tragedy” in Jacksonville. “We support our partners at EA Sports and will continue to monitor developments with local law enforcement.”
