PARKLAND, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel reports seventeen casualties and multiple injured in the mass shooting that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida Wednesday afternoon. Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones and all those impacted by yet another senseless shooting at an American school.”
President Trump tweeted this statement earlier: “My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting. No child, teacher or anyone should ever feel unsafe in an American school.”
The Hill reports that Senator Chris Murphy made a public statement about the Parkland, Florida school shooting on the Senate floor, noting that multiple school shootings is a phenomenon that only occurs in the U.S. “as a consequence of our inaction” on gun violence. “This happens nowhere else other than the United States of America — this epidemic of mass slaughter, this scourge of school shooting after school shooting.”
