BITHLO, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – On Tuesday, May 15th, Commissioner Emily Bonilla will be hosting a town hall at the Bithlo Community Center to discuss crime and other concerns with residents of the area.
This meeting will provide a setting for residents to speak directly to Orange County officials about their ideas for reducing crime Bithlo, and learn more about the programs and services that the county provides. Representatives from the Orange County Sherriff’s Office, Family Services, the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, and other offices will be in attendance.
Commissioner Bonilla, who lives in the Bithlo area, has been meeting with Bithlo residents and Orange County departments like the Sheriff’s Office, to understand the needs of the community and help implement solutions. Her goal for this town hall is to help forge partnerships between residents and the government to more efficiently tackle this issue.
“Public safety is something that my office takes very seriously,” Commissioner Bonilla said. “We want to make sure that our residents feel safe in their neighborhoods. That’s why we’re putting together this town hall. Our office has been getting a lot of concerns from the Bithlo community about crime in the area, so we want our constituents to know that we hear them, and that we’re doing everything we can to help.”
