Orange County Vice-Mayor Siplin Hosted a Workshop of Orange County FY 2017-18 Budget and Secured Funding for Small Non-Profits

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Source: Office of Orange County Vice-Mayor Victoria Siplin // On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, Vice-Mayor Victoria P. Siplin hosted a budget workshop in Pine Hills in an effort to keep District 6 citizens engaged and informed. The presentation was conducted by senior staff in the Office of Management & Budget (OMB), who provided an overview of the annual budget’s funding sources and how the County allocates its financial resources to programs and services.

“I wanted to bring the budget presentation to the community because I want my constituents to be educated about how their tax dollars help keep the County running efficiently and fund the services we all enjoy,” stated Vice-Mayor Siplin.

Staff from Orange County Citizens’ Commission for Children highlighted Vice-Mayor Siplin’s 2015 fiscal initiative that allocated two-hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) to help fund small non-profits under Orange County Family Services Department’s Small-Scale CRP process. Vice-Mayor Siplin championed this policy to help small organizations successfully compete for financial resources.

Vice-Mayor Victoria P. Siplin is the Commissioner for Orange County District 6, which includes a significant number of small organizations that offer vital programs and services for families, but are unable to secure grants.
