ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – Endorsed by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Commissioners Jim Gray, Robert Stuart and Regina Hill were re-elected to another four-year term on the City Council during Tuesday’s general election.
Commissioner Gray defeated challenger Tom Keen in the District 1 race 53 percent to 40 percent.
Commissioner Stuart defeated challenger Asima Azam, in the District 3 race 51 percent to 49 percent.
Commissioner Hill barely defeated six challengers in District 5 race, which included former Miss America Ericka Dunlap; community activist Cynthia Harris; urban planner Sarah Elbadri; day care owner Betty Gelzer; landscaper Ondria James and Jabreel Ali, grandson of former Orange County Commissioner Mable Butler. Hill won the election with 50.2 percent to Dunlap’s second-place 25 percent.
Going by the votes, it appears that Orlando citizens are happy with the direction the current elected leaders are taking the city.
