COLUMBUS, Ga. (FNN NEWS) – Family and friends said their last goodbyes to actress, producer and model Kim Porter, who dated music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs for several years, in an elaborate funeral on Saturday. Porter was found dead in her Los Angeles home on November 15th, according to TMZ, who also reported she had been suffering from flu-like symptoms for several weeks. However, her cause of death is currently unknown.
Porter was born in Columbus, Georgia, in 1971. She was laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Garden Cemetery in Columbus on Saturday, November 24th by her mother. According to the Ledger-Inquirer, special celebrity guests included Diddy, Kimora Lee Simmons, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil’ Kim, Russell Simmons, Mase, Yolanda Adams, Kandi Burruss, Tichina Arnold, Nene Leakes, Stevie J and Faith Evans, who sang at the event. The Ledger-Inquirer also reports that approximately 2,500 mourners were expected to be in attendance.
“Today we lay to rest our ANGEL,” Combs wrote on Twitter before the service on Saturday. “Her spirit lives on with us FOREVER!!! We thank you all for your prayers and support. You have no idea how much it means to us. We thank GOD for all of you.”
The former couple shares son Christian, 20, and 11-year-old twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, in addition to Porter’s eldest child, Quincy, 27, who Diddy considers a son.
