KISSIMMEE, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – U.S. Congressman Darren Soto, Kissimmee Mayor Pro Tem Angela Eady, local elected officials and community leaders held a roundtable discussion on Bahamas hurricane relief at Kissimmee City Hall Friday morning.
Hurricane Dorian caused major devastation in the Bahamas, leaving at least seven reported dead and tens of thousands of homes and businesses destroyed. As one of the most powerful hurricanes recorded to hit the Bahamas, the island is suffering a humanitarian crisis, in which thousands are in need of immediate assistance and basic necessities.
Soto and Eady’s roundtable discussion informed Central Floridians on the different ways to help and get involved with recovery efforts for the Bahamas.
