FLORIDA NATIONAL NEWS (FNN) CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES

Welcome to Florida National News (FNN)! We are seeking timely, investigative, and engaging contributions from independent journalists, bloggers, writers, video creators, photographers, videographers, social media specialists, and graphic designers. Our coverage spans entertainment, sports, politics, business, and luxury lifestyle (including health and fitness, food and drink, nightlife, and luxury living). We accept both objective news stories and opinion-editorial (op-ed) pieces.

Submission Guidelines

FNN Newsroom Process

  • Review: The Managing Editor or Assignment Editors will review your email submission and respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you don’t hear back, you are free to submit your content to another outlet.
  • Volume of Submissions: Due to high volume, not all submissions will receive a response.

News Coverage and Assignments

  • Assignment of Stories: The Assignment Editor manages daily coverage and assigns stories to contributors, including independent journalists, writers, photographers, and videographers. Contributors may not self-assign stories.
  • Coordination: The Assignment Editor coordinates resources and ensures that contributors meet deadlines while upholding FNN’s editorial standards.

Content Turnaround

  • Timeliness: For time-sensitive stories, submissions must be delivered within 4 hours of completion.
  • Submission Method: Send your work directly to info@floridanationalnews.com.

Use of FNN Credentials

  • FNN IDs: These are the exclusive property of Florida National News and FNN News Network.
  • Authorization: Credentials may only be used for assignments approved by an editor, publisher, vice president, or president.
  • Misuse: Unauthorized use will result in the revocation of credentials by the FNN Publisher or President.

Intellectual Property Rights

  • Copyright: Florida National News retains full copyright to all content produced while on assignment, including articles, photos, videos, interviews, and edits.
  • Repurpose Requests: If you wish to use your content elsewhere, submit a request via email with the subject “Republish Request” to info@floridanationalnews.com.

Plagiarism Policy

  • Zero Tolerance: Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. This includes copying content from websites, submitting another person’s work as your own, or using another person’s ideas without proper attribution.

Contributor Profiles

  • Professional Bio & Headshot: Contributors must submit a bio and headshot for their FNN user profile.
  • Collaborative Pieces: For co-authored works, the lead author’s name will be listed, and co-contributors will be credited in the byline.

Website Access

  • Access Requirements: After publishing three assignments, contributors will receive access to the FNN website, where they can upload their work as drafts for review and publishing.

Content Guidelines

  • Structure: Written content should be clear, concise, and adhere to journalistic standards.
  • Links: Limit external links to three (3) per article. Links should support research, context, or relevant resources for readers.
  • Calls to Action (CTAs): All posts should end with an invitation for the audience to engage (e.g., requests for comments, shares, or sign-up links).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Independent Journalists & Writers: Submit objective news stories or op-eds that meet FNN’s editorial standards.
  • Bloggers: Share personal perspectives, commentary, or specialized knowledge on assigned topics.
  • Video Creators & Videographers: Capture and edit compelling video content for news coverage, interviews, or special features.
  • Photographers: Capture high-quality images for news events, special features, and assignments.
  • Social Media Specialists: Create engaging social media posts, reels, and live streams to promote FNN content.
  • Graphic Designers: Design visuals for FNN articles, promotional materials, social media graphics, and branding needs.

Internal Communication

  • Point of Contact: Send questions, issues, and requests to info@floridanationalnews.com.
  • Response Time: Editors aim to respond to inquiries promptly, but high submission volume may delay replies.

Contributor Code of Conduct

  • Professionalism: Contributors are expected to maintain professionalism in their communication and interactions with FNN editors and staff.
  • Accountability: Contributors must meet deadlines and adhere to assignments.
  • Revisions: FNN editors reserve the right to request revisions to content before publishing.

Disciplinary Actions

  • Violations: Failure to adhere to these guidelines, misuse of credentials, or failure to meet deadlines may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of contributor access.
