BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – In a press conference at the American Aviation Flight Academy in Brooksville Monday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced $6 million in state funds for a Hernando County workforce development project Monday morning.
The governor stated the project will be a collaboration between the state, Hernando County and Pasco-Hernando State College to fund the building of a technical training center aimed at preparing residents to enter the tech and aviation industries, bolstering the work pipeline.
DeSantis spent a few moments railing against President Biden’s economic policy, and when FNN News’s Mellissa Thomas asked him how he will offset the inflation coming out of Washington, he said he is in the process of developing some kind of economic relief for commuters feeling the pinch from rising gas prices. “people need to [be able to] get to work,” he said. He added that he’ll be working with the Legislature to create a measure accordingly.
