Actionable Fashion: 4 Versatile Outfits That’ll Have Spring 2014 Eating Out of Your Palm

by Danisha Lashae

We’ve made it to spring, which means no more extreme hot weather or piercing cold weather. Now you can move those light airy sweaters and vibrant colors to the front of your closet. Spring weather has a way of breathing life into anything lifeless. Many trends will be emerging in spring, and many that can easily transition from the fall/winter season into the spring season. I put several outfits together — with no black!

(I know. I was shocked myself.)

There are no black clothing items (except one), but since black is a neutral, I added it in the accessories. Enjoy!

1. Brunch in Floral

This is great for catching lunch with one of your girlfriends. The orange skinny jeans bring out the orange in the blazer. Since spring still offers chilly nights, you can easily transition this into an evening outfit by swapping the colored jeans for either a dark wash jean or leathered panel pants.

2. Casual Shopping/Movie Night

Here’s a perfect example of transitioning from fall/winter into spring. The moto trend has always been popular, and what better way to bring it into spring than by pairing it with a mint green sweater and a basic pair of white skinny jeans.

3. Palm Sunday

You can never go wrong with a simple flowing dress paired with a bold shoe, which ushers spring in with simplistic grace. The white accessories add a touch of class to the dress.

4. Business meeting

It can be hard wearing bright colors in corporate America. The easiest way is to pair them with neutrals. Black works best without coming off too harsh. You can either pair a top with a neutral skirt or a colored trouser or pencil skirt with a graphic or simplistic top. The geometric print here nicely compliments the neon top, and nothing adds spice like a pair of strappy heels to complete the outfit.

I hope you are inspired to venture out and spring into spring fashion with both feet and wear as much color (fashionably) as you want. In the words of Joyce Meyer, every time you look in the mirror, remember that God created you, and that everything He creates is beautiful and good. You can thank her later! 😉
