Bagels & Co. Expands to Tallahassee with New Café Near Florida State University

Willie DavidTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FNN) – Bagels & Co. is bringing its signature Brooklyn-style bagels and eclectic cream cheeses to Tallahassee, marking its first location in a Florida college town. The café will open its doors in January 2025 at Stadium Centre, located at 799 W. Gaines St., steps away from the Florida State University campus.
A New Spot for ‘Noles Fans
The 2,200-square-foot café will provide seating for approximately 15 guests indoors and 15 outdoors, making it a cozy spot for students, faculty, and locals. Operating daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (with extended hours on game days), Bagels & Co. will offer over a dozen bagel varieties, including fan-favorites like French toast, cheddar habanero, asiago, and the rare egg everything bagel—a treat hard to find in Florida.
“We are very excited to open up at Florida State as our first Florida location at a major university,” said Mike Marsh, Managing Partner. “We can’t wait to be part of the ‘Noles community and look forward to providing our capital city with delicious bagels and great coffee.”
Menu Highlights and Seminoles Spirit
In addition to bagels, the café will feature unique cream cheese flavors such as maple bacon, black truffle, cookie monster, and vegan tofu. Special limited-edition menu items inspired by the Florida State Seminoles will debut throughout the year, adding a local flair.
The menu also includes high-quality, made-to-order sandwiches, pastries, gluten-free options, and grab-and-go items. Their Costa Rican coffee beans roasted in New York ensure a premium coffee experience.
Bagels & Co.’s Growing Footprint
This will be the second Bagels & Co. location to open in a college town, joining its café at Temple University in Philadelphia. The brand has plans to expand further, with locations coming to Penn State University, University of Florida, and Nova Southeastern University in Spring 2025.
Since its Florida debut in Fall 2023, Bagels & Co. has gained recognition in the competitive bagel market, becoming a finalist for Sun Sentinel’s Best Bagels award and earning nominations for OUTSFL’s Your Choice Awards in categories like best new restaurant and best breakfast.
Bagels & Co. Sets Sights on Expansion
With two locations already thriving in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors), Bagels & Co. plans to continue expanding in Florida and Pennsylvania before moving into new states.

AdventHealth Opens 2026 Community Impact Grants to Address Central Florida Health Needs

Willie DavidORLANDO, Fla. (FNN) — AdventHealth is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Impact Grants, aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations working to address critical health needs across Central Florida.
The grant program partners with community-based organizations to expand initiatives that improve quality of life and promote long-term sustainability. Eligible nonprofits serving residents in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and South Lake counties are encouraged to apply.
Applications are open from March 30 through April 16, with funding expected to begin Jan. 1, 2027.
FOCUS ON COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS
The grants are guided by Central Florida’s Community Health Needs Assessment, which identifies key challenges impacting residents’ well-being.
“Our annual Community Impact Grants are guided by Central Florida’s Community Health Needs Assessment to ensure we are investing meaningfully where our neighbors need us most,” said Tricia Edris, senior vice president of innovation and partnerships for AdventHealth Central Florida. “We are honored to align our resources and stand as partners to create measurable, lasting impact across the region.”
PRIORITY AREAS FOR FUNDING
The 2026 grant cycle will focus on three key areas:
- Housing instability
- Transportation
- Food insecurity
These priorities reflect social determinants of health that can significantly influence a person’s ability to live a healthy and stable life. Community organizations often serve as the first line of support for residents facing these challenges.
COMMUNITY IMPACT AND PARTNERSHIPS
Past grant recipients say the program has helped expand opportunities for residents. Crystal Davidson highlighted the impact of the initiative on workforce development.
“Schools and colleges often don’t have the funding to provide introductory workforce programs that expose students to new career opportunities,” Davidson said. “Through partnership grants like the one AdventHealth is providing, we’re able to give young people hands-on experiences that help them discover their potential and build a path toward a meaningful career.”
AdventHealth will also host an informational webinar to guide organizations through eligibility requirements, funding priorities and the application process. Interested applicants can learn more and apply through the AdventHealth website.

PR Veteran Dina Allende Closes Boutique Agency After 25 Years, Joins United Way Miami

March 2, 2026Allende now serves as Associate Director of Communications at United Way Miami, joining the organization as it continues its century-long mission supporting Miami-Dade County through initiatives focused on education, health and financial stability.
Clique PR was founded in the months following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks — a period Allende described as both uncertain and transformative. The firm grew into a respected boutique agency representing clients across arts, entertainment, tourism and international business sectors.
Before launching her agency, Allende built her communications foundation with respected institutions including WPBT, Walt Disney World and Doral Golf Resort & Spa.
Through Clique PR, she represented high-profile events and organizations such as the Miami International Boat Show, Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Miami International Film Festival, the Latin America and Caribbean Air Transport Association, and INCAE during a Central American Presidential Summit where she saw Barack Obama in person.
Additional clients included Regulator Marine, Loud And Live and Sonesta Resorts in South Florida. She also collaborated on signature cultural events including Grovetoberfest, Wynwood Life and House of Horror Haunted Carnaval.
Among the most memorable milestones in her career, Allende handled publicity for 14th Dalai Lama, receiving a personal blessing she describes as unforgettable. She also worked alongside Miami New Drama Artistic Director Michel Hausmann and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz to help expand the reach of theatrical storytelling in South Florida.

United Way Miami, which recently marked 100 years of service, focuses on strengthening the community through strategic investments that expand educational opportunities, improve health outcomes and promote financial stability for families.
“United Way Miami’s mission aligns fully with what has always driven me — connecting people, elevating stories and helping meaningful work reach the audiences it deserves,” she said.
Allende expressed gratitude to the colleagues, journalists, collaborators and clients who supported her throughout her career, saying her next chapter is built on the foundation created over the past quarter century.
“This next chapter is possible because of all we have built together,” she said.
