Correction: Tom Brady Announces Retirement After 22 Years, 7 Super Bowl Titles
Published

UPDATE: 4:09pm – Tom Brady has not officially announced his retirement, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times tweeted:
TAMPA BAY, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) – There is no doubt Tom Brady will go down as the greatest of all-time. Reports circulated Saturday that the GOAT is saying goodbye to the game of football. After being drafted in the sixth round (pick 199) out of the University of Michigan, all he did was prove the doubters wrong.
Brady’s first Super Bowl came less than two years after the Patriots drafted him, with the “Greatest Show on Turf” and a 20-17 victory over the Rams. He would play a total of 20 seasons in Foxboro, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy six times, and winning Super Bowl MVP in four of those matchups.
In 2020, Brady shocked the football world when he bolted New England for the warm weather and palm trees of Tampa Bay. Brady picked up where he left off and not only commanded the respect of his teammates, but guided the Buccaneers to a place they hadn’t been since 2003, a spot in the Super Bowl.
It was a history-making Super Bowl, as the Buccaneers became the first team to not only host, but win at their home stadium. Brady, an ageless wonder at 43 years old completed 21 of 29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns, earning him a fifth Super Bowl MVP award.
Tom Brady By The Numbers
- 7x Super Bowl Champion – Most All-Time
- 5x Super Bowl MVP – Most All-Time
- 624 Passing Touchdowns – Most All-Time
- 84.520 – Passing Yards – Most All-Time
- 7,263 – Pass Completions – Most All-Time
Tom Brady, Tommy Terrific, the Ageless Wonder whatever you want to call him, Brady will go down in NFL history as The Greatest Quarterback of All-Time. He played with charisma and class and carried himself in that same manner off the field as well.
Thanks for the memories!
