ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – FNN News Network announced its new Assistant Editor for FNN News en Español, Janira Vazquez Garcia, Tuesday.
Garcia will be working closely with Content Coordinator Juan Carlo Rodríguez and the FNN News en Español team to ramp up the network’s content on the FNN News website and across social media. Additionally, she’ll be helping to recruit new members to the FNN News en Español team, which is currently a team of ten (she already has two people in mind). Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, Florida, Janira Vazquez Garcia has dedicated her life to working and educating the youth of Central Florida. Her passion with working with children came at a very young age and was greatly due to the educators in her life that instilled in her a love for learning. She has a deep passion for the arts and sports, having taught TV productions and becoming an assistant coach for a youth soccer team. She enjoys motivating the youth to succeed and was invited to speak in a prison ministry where she gave her testimony and encouraged them to not give up on their dreams.
In 2021 Garcia created a brand for kids called Open Mouth Fish, which she is currently developing, and in 2022 she was invited to cover the prestigious 2021 Don Quijote Awards for FNN News en Español, eventually becoming a reporter for the organization. She enjoys the outdoors with her two daughters, who are active in the arts and sports.
“I’m excited to welcome Janira Vazquez Garcia as the new Assistant Editor for FNN News en Español,” said FNN News Network President J. Willie David III in a written statement. “On day one, Janira hit the ground running when she joined our team covering press conferences, major sports and the annual Don Quijote Awards Gala at Walt Disney World. FNN News Network looks forward to working closely with Content Coordinator Juan Carlo Rodríguez and Janira on developing a long-term vision for FNN News en Español.”
“Janira has been a great addition to the FNN News en Español team,” said FNN News Network Managing Director Mellissa Thomas. “Her fierce drive, attention to detail, passion for journalism and previous experience make her a great fit for her new role as Assistant Editor.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an outstanding organization and team for FNN News en Español,” said Garcia in a written statement. “As a reporter for Florida National News and FNN News en Español, I have had the opportunity to grow within the organization and be part of their vision. I am honored to be given the position as the Assistant Editor for FNN News en Español.

September 29, 2026The refrigerated lineup includes five single-serve dishes and two family-size meals.
BATAVIA, Ill. (FNN) — ALDI will begin rolling out seven ready-made meals in select stores in early October, with single-serve dishes priced under $8 and family-size options under $15. The grocer expects the full lineup to be available nationwide by January 2027.
The collection includes five single-serve meals: beef Bolognese spaghetti, beef brisket with white mac and cheese, butter chicken and rice, a chicken burrito bowl, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The two family-size dishes are chicken and bacon mac and cheese and a meat lovers pizza bake.
“Our shoppers are looking for meals that fit into busy lives,” said Joan Kavanaugh, vice president of national buying for ALDI U.S. She said the company developed the lineup with shoppers’ budgets and demand for convenient meals in mind.
Price and preparation
ALDI said the single-serve meals contain 30 to 46 grams of protein each. The family-size dishes contain 16 to 22 grams per serving. The company announced price limits for the two sizes but did not list a price for each individual meal.
“We tested hundreds of recipes as we developed this collection,” said Terry Jackson, head of food at Kitchen Food Company, ALDI’s supplier for the meals. Jackson said the team focused on flavor and ingredients while developing the dishes.
The meals are refrigerated, not frozen. ALDI says the single-serve dishes can be heated in a microwave, while the family-size meals are prepared in an oven. Shoppers should follow the directions on each package.
