ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN NEWS) – The Florida Republican nominees for this year’s midterm elections held a unity rally at Ace Cafe in Orlando Thursday, which included Ashley Moody, nominee for Attorney General. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, as well as Governor Rick Scott were in attendance at the event and lent Moody their support.
“[Ashley] cares so much about people and our state,” Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said of Asley Moody. “I feel so comfortable handing you the office for the next eight years of Attorney General.” Attorney General Bondi noted Moody’s history of fighting the opioid crisis and human trafficking, two of Florida’s prevalent crime challenges.
The political newcomer highlighted the glaring difference between her and her opponent. “The Democratic Party has nominated a politician that has not prosecuted a single case,” Moody pointed out in her rally speech, touting her 20 years of experience of prosecuting cases.
Moody promised to honor law enforcement and give them the resources and tools they need to serve their communities while also protecting their rights.
“[This Republican ticket] will put progress over politics, I can assure you of that,” Moody told the Orlando audience. “And I’m honored to be among them.”
“Ashley’s going to do a great job,” Governor Scott affirmed. “She’s gonna have some big shoes to fill…but she’s going to do a great job.”
