Mayor Jerry Demings Given CFHLA’s Top Honor During Annual Hospitality Gala

ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN) – Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings received the 2021 Charles Andrews Memorial Hospitality Award for Community Leadership, the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association (CFHLA)’s highest honor, in front of 1,000 attendees at the CFHLA Hospitality Gala on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando.

Other honorees include Erin Sims of Landform of Central Florida received the 2021 Allied Member of the Year Award at the 2021 Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Gala.

U.S. Senate candidate and Congresswoman Val Demings, known for being a legislative champion in Washington fighting for the hotel industry hit hard by the pandemic, joined her husband at the gala. Demings co-sponsored the Save Hotel Jobs Act, which would provide critical payroll support, plus tax credits for hotels.
