ORLANDO, Fla – The Central Florida Urban League (CFUL) will welcome the three candidates for Mayor of Orange County: Sheriff Jerry Demings, Rob Panepinto and Commissioner Pete Clarke to lead the organization’s annual policy discussion and breakfast on Friday, February 23 (7:30 a.m.) at the Citrus Club (255 S. Orange Ave) in Orlando.
The breakfast will give local business and community leaders an opportunity to hear directly from three prominent candidates as well as discuss their ideas for the future of Orange County and Central Florida.
Furthermore, the morning will also serve as an opportunity for the CFUL to present the 2018 Cornerstone Awards. These awards are given annually to business and community leaders who have made significant contributions to the Urban League’s mission of social and economic equality.
“We are honoured that the candidates for Mayor of Orange County are joining us to discuss their ideas for the future of our community,” said Glenton Gilzean Jr., President and C.E.O of the Central Florida Urban League. “We work closely with all levels of government and we look forward to welcoming the candidates for an honest discussion about the issues affecting our community.”
The annual breakfast is part of the CFUL’s Gala Weekend, which includes an exclusive screening of the Lost Tapes of Malcolm X (6 p.m.) on Friday, February 23 at the Orlando Museum of Art (2416 N. Mills Ave) and the organization’s formal gala, featuring the legendary Johnny Gill on Saturday, February 24, (6:30 p.m.) at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel (9939 Universal Blvd).
