Orange County Sheriff John Mina Endorses Tiffany Hughes for Florida House District 39

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tiffany Hughes, candidate for State House District 39, announced today that she has earned the endorsement of Orange County Sheriff John Mina.

In endorsing Ms. Hughes, Sheriff Mina said: “As Sheriff of Orange County, I am proud to endorse Tiffany Hughes for State House District 39. Tiffany supports public safety and has the necessary experience to be an effective representative for District 39.”

Orange County, Sheriff Mina’s jurisdiction, comprises the bulk of House District 39, the newly minted district spanning parts of Orange and Seminole Counties.

The winner of the August 23rd primary will no doubt have to court moderate and NPA voters to succeed in the general election. Registration records in the district show voters are evenly split between Democrats (35%) and Republicans (35%), with an additional 30% of voters registered as NPA. As a business owner, mother, and leader in her community, Tiffany is focused on what unites voters in District 39 and fostering shared values among community members.

“I’m honored to have received Sheriff Mina’s endorsement. I’m grateful for his acknowledgment that I have what it takes to win this seat and represent HD 39 in the state house. As the past President of the Orange County Branch of the NAACP, I am all too familiar with the issues surrounding policing in America. But I also know that by working together, we create room for change, room for growth, and room for a better relationship where we work alongside our police officers to create safer communities. In his more than 30 years of public service, Sheriff Mina has exemplified what it means to protect and serve, and I look forward to working with him when I’m elected to represent District 39.”

Tiffany Hughes has also received the endorsement of Ruth’s List Florida and is supported by the Florida Democratic Party’s House Victory Caucus.
