ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) — Orlando City SC (9-5-8, 35 points) settled for a 1-1 draw against CF Montréal (8-11-2, 26 points) Saturday night at Inter&Co Stadium, conceding a late equalizer after leading most of the match.
The Lions opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Martín Ojeda buried a left-footed strike off an indirect free kick delivered by Luis Muriel. The goal marked Ojeda’s 10th of the season, tying him for the team lead, and extended his goal contribution streak to seven consecutive matches — a new club record. Muriel’s assist was his sixth of the season and his third in the last two matches.
Defensively, Orlando controlled the match, limiting Montréal without a shot on target until the 83rd minute, when a penalty kick was awarded to the visitors. Prince Owusu converted from the spot to level the match and ultimately split the points.
Orlando City returns to action Wednesday, July 16, at home against New York City FC, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.
Match Notes:
Martín Ojeda became the third player in club history to record double-digit goals (10) and assists (10) in a single season across all competitions.

Defender Kyle Smith made his 200th club appearance in all competitions, becoming just the second player to reach that milestone.

October 24, 2026Shooting struggles and a costly third quarter leave Orlando winless through two games under first-year coach Sean Sweeney
ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) — A new coaching era has opened with consecutive losses for the Orlando Magic, who fell 115-93 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night at Kia Center.
Orlando dropped to 0-2 under first-year head coach Sean Sweeney as shooting struggles again slowed its offense. The Magic also struggled with turnovers and missed free throws, repeating problems from their season-opening loss to Atlanta. Yahoo Sports

Third-quarter struggles prove costly

Carter leads Orlando
Wendell Carter Jr. finished with 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Magic. Franz Wagner scored 18 points before fouling out, while Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs added 14 apiece.
Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels each scored 15 points for Minnesota, which improved to 2-0. Rudy Gobert contributed 14 points and nine rebounds. Reuters
Perimeter shooting remains a concern
Orlando made just eight of its 39 attempts from 3-point range, shooting 20.5%. Minnesota connected on 37.8% of its attempts from beyond the arc. reuters.com
Two games offer a limited measure of Sweeney’s tenure, but the early results identify an immediate challenge: improving offensive execution and preventing difficult stretches from becoming decisive runs.
