Orlando City Commission Regina Hill recognizes two Neighborhood Watch Groups at national night-out event
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – On Wednesday evening, Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill, Orlando Police Chief John Mina, and the Orlando Police Department (OPD) kicked off the National Night Out party to promote police-community partnerships in an effort to keep Orlando a safe city.

The kickoff event was held at Heritage Square Park, 65 East Central Boulevard, in District 5. Citizens visited informational tables where they was able to learn about public safety and awareness, how to start their own Neighborhood Watch program.
Commission Hill recognized two neighborhood watch groups for their efforts in making District 5 a safe place to live and work. Hill presented a $100 check to Carter Street Neighborhood Watch for becoming the newest neighborhood watch group. Also, Hill presented a $200 check to Rock Lake Neighborhood Association for being the neighborhood watch group of the year.
The City of Orlando currently has more than 960 Neighborhood Watch block captains and in 2014, the Orlando Police Department’s nationally recognized National Night Out drew more than 16,000 participants. Every year, the City works to increase the Neighborhood Watch Program by participating with residents and the community in National Night Out.

Orlando City Commissioner Sam Ings, Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph and State of Florida, Orange Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor Daisy Morales were among the local elected officials attending Commission Hill’s community event. Also, representatives with US Senator Marco Rubio’s Office and Orange County Property Appraiser’s Office were present.

ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN Sports) – Russell Henley wins his first red cardigan at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, today, along with $4 million of the $20 million prize pool. The red cardigan was first awarded in 2017, in memory of Arnold Palmer who passed the year before. This is Henley’s fifth win on the PGA Tour.

Henley finished at 11 under par for the four day tournament, carding a 70 today. Collin Morikawa finished in second place at 10 under par. API defending champion, Scottie Scheffler, finished today at 4 under par, tied for 11th place.

This coming week, the top golfers head to TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, for The Players Championship. The winner will walk away with $4.5 million of the $25 million up for grabs. This is the PGA Tour’s largest regular season purse. Stay tuned to www.FloridaNationalNews.com for more.

ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN Sports) – Scottie Scheffler wins his second red cardigan at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, today, along with $4 million of the $20 million prize pool. The number one ranked golfer in the world, Scheffler finished at 15 under par for the four day tournament, carding a 66 today. Wyndham Clark finished in second place at 10 under par. API defending champion, Kurt Kitayama, did not make the cut, this weekend, finishing 7 over par after the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday.
