KISSIMMEE, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) – The Osceola Magic‘s woes continued as they fell to the Capital City Go-Go 106-95 at home on Wednesday night. The loss marks the team’s sixth defeat in their last nine games, leaving them with a disappointing 3-6 record on the season.
Despite a strong offensive performance from Mac McClung, who led the team with 21 points, and a solid contribution from Jarrett Culver off the bench, the Magic were unable to overcome the Go-Go’s balanced attack. Capital City’s Erik Stevenson came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points, while Jaylen Nowell added 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
Head Coach Dylan Murphy acknowledged the team’s defensive effort, stating, “Defensively we played well enough tonight. They’re one of the best offenses in the league, and to hold them to 106, we’re pleased with that defensively.” However, he also noted the team’s ongoing struggle to put together a complete game on both ends of the floor, saying, “For us, just putting two halves of basketball together at the same time, we’ve shown spurts.”
Can the Osceola Magic Turn It Around? Seeking Answers After Consecutive Losses
The Magic’s inability to string together consistent performances has been a recurring theme throughout the early part of the season. With a roster that includes promising young talent like McClung and Culver, as well as the recent addition of Colin Castleton, the team has the potential to turn things around. But they’ll need to find a way to translate their flashes of brilliance into sustained success on the court.
