ORLANDO, Fla. – State Representative Daisy Morales (D-Orlando) is honoring the frontline health care workers who put their lives on the line distributing the COVID-19 vaccine during the two District 48 community vaccination events, and is giving Black nurses special recognition for Black History Month.
Representative Morales hosted her first COVID-19 vaccination clinic for District 48 in partnership with fellow elected officials and community organizations at an Azalea Park church on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She hosted the second vaccination clinic at a church on South Goldenrod Road on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. After coordinating with the Florida Division of Emergency Management earlier in February, Representative Morales will present the over 25 Black frontline health care workers who served at both events with awards.
“Between the two events, these incredible health care champions gave the life-saving vaccine to 1,000 people,” said Representative Morales. “I’m forever grateful to all of them for their service, patience and sacrifice. These are the champions I look forward to working with at our 24-hour mass COVID-19 vaccination site, with the Governor’s approval.”
