MOSINEE, WI (FNN) – On Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM CDT, former President Donald J. Trump will hold a rally at Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee. As Wisconsinites face financial strain due to a 20.5% rise in inflation since Vice President Kamala Harris took office, Trump will address the economic challenges plaguing the state. The rally comes as residents grapple with increased costs for everyday essentials, including rent, utilities, and groceries, making it harder for families to make ends meet.

The soaring inflation has also impacted homeownership, with median home prices in Wisconsin up nearly 30% since Harris took office. Many potential buyers find themselves unable to afford a home due to higher mortgage rates and inflated prices, putting the American Dream out of reach for many in the state.

Trump, touting his track record of economic success, will urge Wisconsinites to support the Trump-Vance ticket in November, promising a return to a thriving economy, better jobs, higher income, and lower unemployment rates.

President Joe Biden Affirms U.S. Commitment to Ukraine

Published

on

WASHINGTON (FNN) – President Joe Biden reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the White House today. President Biden highlighted the achievements of Ukraine’s resistance against Russian aggression, stating, “Ukraine has won the battle of Kyiv, reclaimed more than half the territory that Russia seized at the start of the war, and safeguarded its sovereignty and independence.” However, he emphasized that the fight is not over, and more support is needed for Ukraine to achieve victory.

To strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, President Biden announced a series of decisive actions:

  • “I have directed the Department of Defense to allocate all of its remaining security assistance funding that has been appropriated for Ukraine by the end of my term in office,” President Biden declared. This includes authorizing $5.5 billion in Presidential Drawdown Authority to ensure that U.S. equipment for Ukraine is fully utilized and U.S. stockpiles are replenished.
  • The Department of Defense will provide $2.4 billion in security assistance through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, enhancing Ukraine’s air defense, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and long-range strike capabilities. This also includes the refurbishment of an additional Patriot air defense battery and the provision of additional Patriot missiles.
  • In a significant move to bolster Ukraine’s air force, President Biden has directed the Department of Defense to expand training for Ukrainian F-16 pilots, supporting the training of 18 additional pilots next year.
  • To undermine Russian efforts, the Department of Justice, the Department of the Treasury, and the U.S. Secret Service have coordinated to disrupt a global cryptocurrency network involved in Russian sanctions evasion and money laundering.

Looking ahead, President Biden will convene a leader-level meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany next month, reinforcing the international coalition supporting Ukraine’s defense.

“Through these actions, my message is clear: The United States will provide Ukraine with the support it needs to win this war,” President Biden concluded, emphasizing the U.S.’s commitment to Ukraine’s success in the face of Russian aggression.
