ST. PETERSBURG — Today, Charlie Crist’s campaign for Governor of Florida announced that it had raised a formidable $1.5 million dollars just one month into the race.
Crist makes history, having raised more than any other Democratic candidate raised during their first month in the 2018 gubernatorial cycle.
“I cannot express my gratitude to the people of Florida enough for their overwhelming support as we kick off this campaign to build a Florida for all,” said Charlie. “We’re building a grassroots campaign with support from people across the Sunshine State to defeat Governor Ron DeSantis and open doors of opportunity for every Floridian. This is only the beginning — and together we can accomplish anything.”
This new total, combined with funds in his congressional campaign account, brings Crist to $1.8 million in cash on hand. Crist’s total is made up of $1.35 million in new fundraising, and $185,000 transferred from his congressional campaign.
Crist’s formidable fundraising total follows a month of campaigning across the Sunshine State. Following his announcement in the historic neighborhood of The Deuces in St. Petersburg, Crist has traveled from Pensacola to Miami with his optimistic message of building a Florida for all.
