JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Florida Sports Channel) – The Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7) beat the Baltimore Ravens (7-4) 28-27 on their first visit to TIAA Bank Field since 2016. This was an exciting game with multiple lead changes before the Jaguars closed it out with seconds to spare.

Today’s game started 25 minutes later than the 1:00 p.m. planned kickoff, due to heavy rains. Fortunately, the skies cleared up and the weather was perfect for the whole game. Ravens K Justin Tucker put up a 27 yard field goal to cap off Baltimore’s first drive. He added a 29 yard three pointer later in the first quarter, to put the Ravens up 6-0 heading into the second.

The Jaguars scored with a 28 yard touchdown pass from QB Trevor Lawrence to RB JaMycal Hasty on their first drive of the quarter. K Riley Patterson added an extra point to put the Jags ahead 7-6. But Justin Tucker’s 55 yard field goal returned the lead to the Ravens, 9-7, until Patterson’s 22 yard field goal gave the lead back to the Jaguars, 10-9 heading into the half.

Justin Tucker added a 24 yard field goal to put the Ravens up 12-10 midway through the third, the only points scored that quarter.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards scored a 1 yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, followed by Justin Tucker’s extra point, to extend the Ravens lead 19-10. But a 1 yard Trevor Lawrence touchdown pass to WR Jamal Agnew followed by Riley Patterson’s extra point narrowed the Jaguars’ deficit to two points. Soon after, a fumble by Ravens SS Andrew Wingard was recovered by Jaguars CB Tevaughn Campbell, which later set up a 29 yard Riley Patterson field goal, to put the Jaguars ahead 20-19. But QB Lamar Jackson’s first touchdown pass of the game, a 12 yarder to TE Josh Oliver, was followed by a Jackson to TE Mark Andrews two point conversion, to put the Ravens up 27-20. The Jaguars final drive ended with a 10 yard Trevor Lawrence to WR Marvin Jones Jr. touchdown pass, and they succeeded in scoring a Lawrence to Zay Jones two point conversion, which put the Jags up 28-27. Justin Tucker was unable to score a 67 yard field goal as time expired.

Today’s game marked the Jaguars’ return to the field after a week 12 bye. The first quarter set the tone for today’s defensive battle, with no scoring by either team. Texans’ K Ka’imi Fairbairn was the first to put points on the scoreboard with a 53 yard field goal early in the second quarter. Fairbairn later added a 30 yard field goal to put the Texans ahead 6-0. A few plays later, QB Trevor Lawrence had to be taken off the field in a cart, after a rough helmet-to-helmet hit by Texans’ LB Azeez Al-Shaair. Al-Shaair and Jaguars’ CB Jarrian Jones were both ejected after the ensuing brawl between the teams. Lawrence was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a concussion, so QB Mac Jones entered the game to take his place. On that same drive, K Cam Little kicked a 33 yard field goal, to leave the Jaguars trailing 6-3 at halftime.

Fairbairn kicked a 28 yard field goal late in the third quarter, extending their lead to 16-6.

Early in the fourth quarter, Little missed a 55 yard field goal attempt, ending his franchise rookie streak at 15 consecutive field goals made. The Texans scored on a 22 yard pass by QB C.J. Stroud to TE Dalton Schultz, followed by Fairbairn’s XP, extending their lead to 23-6. Jaguars TE Evan Engram joined Jeremy Shockey and George Kittle as the only three tight ends in NFL history to record at least 40 receptions in each of their first eight seasons. Soon after, the Jaguars added a 22 yard touchdown pass by Jones to WR Parker Washington. A failed two point conversion attempt left the Jags down 23-12. Jones later connected with WR Brian Thomas Jr. for a 6 yard touchdown pass, tying Thomas for first place in receiving touchdowns by a rookie in franchise history (six). A two point conversion narrowed the deficit to 23-20. But the Texans were able to run out the clock to seal their victory, and knock the Jags out of the postseason.

During today’s game, players, coaches, and staff wore customized cleats and sneakers in support of various charitable organizations that they support, as part of the NFL’s “My Clause My Cleats” campaign. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Florida National News) – The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8) lost to the Minnesota Vikings (7-2), 12-7, effectively ending the Jaguars’ chances of making the playoffs this season. QB Mac Jones, a Jacksonville native who was traded by the New England Patriots in March, made his first start for the Jaguars today, as Trevor Lawrence recovers from a shoulder injury he suffered last week. The Jags also signed QB C.J. Beathard from the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad this week to back up Jones. Beathard played in 13 games for the Jaguars from 2021-2023.
