NFL Celebrates College Football’s 150th Anniversary During Monday Night Football

NEW YORK, NY (FNN SPORTS) – Source: NFL // As the National Football League marks its 100th season, college football is also celebrating a milestone. Wednesday, November 6, is the 150th anniversary of the first college football game ever – a matchup of Princeton and Rutgers in New Jersey. Tonight, the NFL will celebrate the collegiate game and its prominent role in the League’s past, present, and future during the Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. The game – and its broadcast on ESPN – will feature several special moments and integrations highlighting how college football has been shaping current NFL players, NFL Legends, staff, coaches and lifelong fans of the game for the last century.

The NFL shared a poignant video tribute for the occasion.
