ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN) — Orange County Government introduced Orange County Small Business BOOST, a new program offering grants for small businesses, home-based businesses, and gig workers, Tuesday morning.
In the atrium outside of Commission Chambers at Orange County Administration in downtown Orlando, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, joined by County Comptroller Phil Diamond and County Commissioners Christine Moore, Maribel Gomez Cordero and Nicole Wilson, announced that these cash grants will extend vital support to the small business community severely impacted by COVID-19. Mayor Demings also noted that unlike in 2020 and 2021, this year’s grant program also offers funding for gig economy workers: Uber and Lyft drivers, DoorDash, etc.
When asked if this program depletes Orange County’s ARPA funding, Mayor Demings assured the media that Orange County still has funds remaining.
More details can be found on Orange County Government’s website.
