Orlando International Airport’s Terminal C Highlights Local Flavors, Small Business Owners
Published
4 years agoon
ORLANDO, Fla. (FNN) – When it opens later this year, Terminal C at Orlando International Airport will highlight a combination of local flavors, national brands and shine a spotlight on engaging shopping experiences.
“Our dynamic concessions program for the new terminal features everything the modern traveler could want in the way of eating, drinking and shopping during their trip through Florida’s busiest airport,” said Yovannie Rodriguez, Chief Administrative Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). “With more than 80,000 square feet of concession space, we were able to bring concepts to life in a way that meets the diverse needs of passenger demand and continues our delivery of The Orlando Experience.”
With the traveling public in mind, 93 percent of the concessions in Terminal C will be located beyond the security checkpoints with the remaining offerings pre-security. This was done intentionally to enhance the customer experience and ensure the ability for proper timing and planning for those flying in and out of Orlando International.
“At every turn, Terminal C guests will be able to experience a variety of amazing shopping and dining offerings that are unique to Orlando while also enjoying the regional and national brands that they know and love,“ said Tracy Conner-Harris, Assistant Director of Concessions for GOAA.
Local flavors
With more than 24 food and beverage options located throughout the building, the new terminal has a little bit of everything. While efforts were made to introduce new concepts to the Orlando International Airport concessions program, some traveler favorites can be found along the way. Starbucks, Chick Fil-A, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, which currently have locations in the North Terminal, will be in Terminal C when it opens in September.
Knowing the importance of including the flavor of Central Florida, several local brands are expanding their reach by opening locations in the new facility.
Local concepts for Terminal C include the following:
- Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Co.
- Wine Bar George
- Orange County Brewers
- Provisions by Cask & Larder
- PGA Tour Grill
- Raw Juice
- Cucina & Co.
- Olde Hearth Bread Co.
- Cask & Larder Public House
- Orlando Brewing Bar & Bites
- Sunshine Diner by Chef Art Smith
Other dining options located in Terminal C include Eola Market, Shake Shack, Harvest & Grounds, Summer House Orlando, Greenbeat, Desano Pizzeria, Main Street Market with Einstein Bros. Bagels and Replenish with Illy Coffee.
GOAA is pleased to confirm that Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise for this new terminal exceeds overall airport goals with at least 30 percent participation. The program is designed to ensure opportunities for small businesses who wish to participate in concession opportunities at Orlando International Airport.
Retail Concessions
If grabbing a locally-inspired dish wasn’t enough before boarding a flight, travelers can experience some Orlando-specific retail therapy as they pass through Terminal C. Themed shopping experiences from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando feature unique, direct access to the best souvenirs only available in Orlando. Close partnerships with these local theme park leaders allowed GOAA leaders and the construction teams to push their boundaries and imaginations to create one-of-a-kind shopping experiences that could only be found in Orlando.
Other shopping options include innovative newsstand and gift shop options like The Scoop, Gatlin Trade, Sunglass Hut and Brighton. The all-new City Arts Market will bring the Orlando art scene to the traveling public by featuring products created by local artists.
While many travelers might look forward to relaxing before boarding their flight, some might be ready to plan their next vacation and that’s where the TripAdvisor location can be helpful. This retail outlet will feature an interactive display wall sharing information on travel destinations around Central Florida and the world at just the touch of a screen.
Passenger Lounge
For travelers looking to disconnect from it all before boarding their flight, the Plaza Premium Lounge will be the ultimate go-to spot. The lounge, located on the second floor of the Palm Court area, features a dedicated area for families, a restaurant and bar, and quiet spaces where business travelers can be productive.

Willie DavidORLANDO, Fla. (FNN) — The Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association (CFHLA) hosted its 2025 Hospitality Gala on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort, recognizing outstanding leaders whose service and dedication continue to elevate Central Florida’s hospitality and tourism industry.
Nearly 1,100 CFHLA members, elected officials and community leaders attended the association’s premier year-end event. Honors presented during the evening included the Charles Andrews Memorial Hospitality Award, Lodging Member of the Year, Allied Member of the Year and Engineer of the Year.
CFHLA President/CEO Robert Agrusa, CFHLA 2025 Board Chair Chris Mueller, David Siegel Jr., Jacqueline Siegel, Daniel Siegel, 2026 Incoming CFHLA Board Chair Jon McGavin
The evening’s highest honor, the 2025 Charles Andrews Memorial Hospitality Award, was presented posthumously to David Siegel, founder, president and CEO of Westgate Resorts. The award was accepted by members of his family, including Jacqueline Siegel, David Siegel Jr. and Daniel Siegel. Named in honor of CFHLA’s first board chair, Charles Andrews, the award represents the association’s most prestigious recognition.
Siegel founded Westgate Resorts in 1982 with its first property built on an orange grove he owned in Kissimmee, Florida. Under his leadership, the company grew into the largest privately held timeshare company in the world and one of the nation’s largest resort developers, operating more than 13,500 rooms across 22 resorts in the United States. Prior to his passing in April 2025, Siegel announced plans to expand to more than 44 resort destinations under the VI Resorts by Westgate brand.
Throughout his career, Siegel exemplified the entrepreneurial spirit that helped transform Central Florida into a global travel destination. Westgate Resorts also became the largest private employer in the region.
Beyond his business achievements, Siegel was widely recognized for his philanthropic and advocacy efforts. He was inducted into the Central Florida Hospitality Hall of Fame in 2013 by the University of Central Florida and was honored earlier this year with the American Resort Development Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Following the death of his daughter Victoria in 2015, Siegel dedicated himself to combating the nation’s drug epidemic. He founded the Victoria’s Voice Foundation and advocated for expanded access to naloxone through congressional outreach and public education. A military veteran, Siegel also donated more than 28,000 complimentary vacations to members of the armed services. In 2025, the Westgate Foundation distributed $1.5 million in grants to community-focused organizations nationwide.
CFHLA also recognized several industry professionals for excellence and leadership:
Barb Bowden, area managing director of Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando, received the 2025 CFHLA Lodging Member of the Year Award.
Glen Lyons, president of ATMFLA Inc., received the 2025 CFHLA Allied Member of the Year Award.
William “Bill” Mathews, director of engineering at the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort, received the 2025 CFHLA Engineer of the Year Award.
Together, these honorees exemplify the leadership, innovation and community commitment that continue to drive Central Florida’s hospitality and tourism industry forward.
