Buccaneers Kick Off 3rd Annual Treasure Chest 5K Run/Walk Sunday
TAMPA, FL (FNN Sports) – (Buccaneers) On Sunday, October 11, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the third annual Treasure Chests 5K Run/Walk & Corporate Challenge, kicking off a full day of events at Raymond James Stadium aimed at highlighting the NFL-wide Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative. The race will begin with special welcoming remarks from Glazer Family Foundation Co-President Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, before more than 4,000 runners take part in the event, which will support breast cancer research and patient services, benefitting the American Cancer Society, the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, the Florida Hospital Foundation, and Moffitt Cancer Center.
The route for the Treasure Chests 5K Run/Walk & Corporate Challenge winds around Raymond James Stadium, and each entry into the race comes complete with admission to Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. CELEBRITY FLAG RUNNER JOYCE JORDAN, MOTHER OF SAFETY KEITH TANDY
As the Buccaneers take the field for team introductions, safety Keith Tandy will be joined by his mother, Joyce Jordan, who will lead the Buccaneers out of the tunnel as the Celebrity Flag Runner. Ms. Jordan is a breast cancer survivor of 21 years, and her inspirational story will be featured this week in the “Stories of Hope” video series on Buccaneers.com.
HONORARY GUESTS OF THE GAME: TOP RUNNERS IN THE TREASURE CHESTS 5K
Following player introductions, the Buccaneers will welcome the top overall runners from each category (Male, Female, Masters Male, Masters Female, Grand Masters Male and Grand Masters Female) in the Treasure Chests 5K Run/Walk & Corporate Challenge as the Team’s honorary Guests of the Game.
HERO OF THE GAME: U.S. ARMY CORPORAL YAMEL ARRONTE
Before kickoff, the Buccaneers will continue a gameday tradition by honoring the team’s military “Hero of the Game.” At every Buccaneers home game, a military service member is stationed on the Pirate Ship in Buccaneer Cove to help ready the team for the game. On Sunday, the Buccaneers will honor U.S. Army Corporal Yamel Arronte, who served as a combat medic during the Gulf War. Corporal Arronte was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2013, enduring 10 surgeries and a radical double mastectomy since diagnosis. A Tampa native, as well as a graduate of both Leto High School and the University of South Florida, Corporal Arronte now serves as an Area 2 Transportation district resource teacher for Hillsborough County Public Schools. During the “Hero of the Game” segment, 100 guests from Moffitt Cancer Center will join Corporal Arronte on the Pirate Ship. BUCCANEERS SALUTE TO SERVICE SUITE: MILITARY AFFECTED BY BREAST CANCER
At every Buccaneers home game at Raymond James Stadium, the team honors a distinguished group of military members with a special gameday experience in the Salute to Service Suite. On Sunday, fans are encouraged to join players and coaches during a break in the second quarter to thank local servicemen and servicewomen for their sacrifices, highlighted this week by a selection of military members who have been affected by breast cancer – either by facing the disease themselves, or supporting a loved one who is battling breast cancer – including:

ADDITIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS ELEMENTS THROUGHOUT GAMEDAY
Continuing their annual support of breast cancer awareness in NFL markets across the country, local Zeta Tau Alpha sorority members will distribute pink breast cancer awareness ribbons to fans as they enter Raymond James Stadium… Moffitt Cancer Center’s Moffitt Mole Patrol® will offer free skin cancer screenings, sunscreen samples and other educational information in Lot 5 prior to the start of the game… Fans are also encouraged to visit the Florida Hospital Pink Army display in Lot 5 to receive a free pink “scrub cap” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month… The team will be welcomed to the field by 30 oncology nurses and children of breast cancer patients from Florida Cancer Specialists… Hundreds of breast cancer survivors, patients and caretakers from Moffitt Cancer Center and Florida Cancer Specialists will receive custom Buccaneers breast cancer awareness t-shirts and view the game from the Front Row Fans sections in the end zones at Raymond James Stadium… The Buccaneers Cheerleaders will wear custom pink uniforms and use pink pompoms, as well as perform a special halftime show featuring hundreds of the morning race participants… Custom pink flags will fly from the Buccaneers Pirate Ship in Buccaneer Cove… Buccaneers players will wear pink gloves, cleats, and other apparel to be auctioned off at nfl.com/auction in support of the American Cancer Society.
BUCCANEERS ACADEMY GAMEDAY FOR KIDS GUESTS
For each Buccaneers home game, the Bucs Care Foundation hosts 100 “Gameday for Kids” from the Buccaneers Academy program to promote academic achievement and positive behavior in children. Selected groups receive game tickets, t-shirts, food vouchers and Buccaneers flags by achieving goals set by their teachers. On Sunday, the Buccaneers will welcome students from Egypt Lake Elementary, Pizzo Elementary, and Twin Lakes Elementary. More than 15,000 youth and community members representing over 100 organizations from Tampa Bay have been rewarded through the annual program.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Florida National News) – The Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1) came back late in the game to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs (2-3) 31-28. Today’s game marked the Jaguars’ 13th Monday Night Football appearance in Jacksonville, improving their all-time MNF record to 8-5 at home.

The Chiefs were the first to put points on the board, with a QB Patrick Mahomes 2 yard touchdown pass to TE Travis Kelce, followed by the extra point from K Harrison Butker. The score remained 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter, the Jaguars went for it on 4th and 1, but QB Trevor Lawrence was called for fumbling the ball as he tried to run up the middle for a touchdown. Officials reviewed the play which looked like a possible touchdown on the stadium replay, but the fumble ruling stood. On the next series, the Chiefs’ drive finished with Mahomes running 9 yards for a touchdown, followed by another Butker XP. But Lawrence’s 3 yard touchdown pass to WR Parker Washington, followed by K Cam Little’s extra point narrowed the gap. Just before halftime, LB Foye Oluokun got his 500th tackle as a Jaguar. The Chiefs led 14-7 heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, fans cheered loudly when Jaguars two-way rookie phenom WR Travis Hunter caught a 44 yard pass from Trevor Lawrence. Hunter followed with a 1 yard reception, but the scoring drive ended four plays later as Lawrence ran 10 yards for a touchdown followed by Little’s XP, tying the game. Late in the third quarter, LB Devin Lloyd intercepted a Patrick Mahomes pass and ran it 99 yards for a “pick six,” followed by Little’s XP, putting the Jags ahead 21-14.
In the fourth, a Trevor Lawrence pass intended for Parker Washington was intercepted by CB Trent McDuffie. That set up Chiefs’ RB Kareem Hunt, who ran up the middle for a 5 yard touchdown, followed by Butker’s XP to tie the game. Cam Little’s 52 yard field goal later put the Jags up 24-21. But Hunt ran for another 2 yard touchdown, and with Butker’s XP, the Chiefs pulled ahead 28-24, with just 1:45 remaining. Trevor Lawrence wowed the crowd leading an impressive drive downfield. A pass interference call set up a Trevor Lawrence 1 yard touchdown run, and with Little’s XP, the Jaguars pulled ahead 31-28 with just 23 seconds to go. The Chiefs were unable to score on a Patrick Mahomes end of the game Hail Mary, securing the Jaguars’ victory.
Donna Kelce came to Jacksonville to see her sons. Travis plays for the Chiefs, while Jason is now part of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown crew. Mama Kelce also wore a Taylor Swift inspired cap, in support of her future daughter-in-law.
Trevor Lawrence finished with 221 passing yards and one TD. Travis Etienne Jr. Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars’ rushing with 54 yards and two TDs. Brian Thomas Jr. was the leading receiver with 80 yards. Today’s attendance was 69,329.
Also at today’s game, the Jaguars showed off the first part of their major stadium renovations. The first of four new grand staircases opened, leading fans to the main concourse. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Florida National News) – The Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) beat the Tennessee Titans (3-13) 20-13 on a rainy afternoon, as Jacksonville remained under a tornado watch for much of the game. Today’s game was the team’s annual “fan appreciation game,” celebrating the fans’ support of the Jaguars all season long, and for the past 30 years.
The Jaguars’ first drive ended with a 48 yard K Cam Little field goal. But neither team managed to score during the rest of the first quarter, as the score remained 3-0.
In the second quarter, Jaguars LB Devin Lloyd intercepted a QB Mason Rudolph pass intended for RB Julius Chestnut, which excited the hometown fans. The Jags capitalized on that opportunity, as QB Mac Jones threw a 2 yard touchdown pass to WR Parker Washington, followed by Cam Little’s extra point, to extend their lead to 10-0. Little later added a 44 yard field goal, but the Titans scored their first points of the game at the end of the second quarter on K Matthew Wright’s 39 yard field goal. The Jaguars were ahead 13-3 at the half.

Midway through the third quarter, Mason Rudolph completed a 8 yard touchdown pass to TE Nick Vannett, followed by Matthew Wright’s extra point, narrowing the Jags’ lead to 13-10, which remained the score heading into the fourth.
Midway through the fourth, Mac Jones found WR Brian Thomas Jr. in the end zone for an 11 yard touchdown, followed by Little’s XP, to put them ahead 20-10. Matthew Wright’s 28 yard field goal moved the Titans within a touchdown at 20-13, just before the two-minute warning. The Titans had one final drive to score, but were stopped by the Jaguars defense.
DE Travon Walker’s sack today moved him into the top 10 in franchise history with 23.0, breaking his tie with Marcus Stroud and Bobby McCray. Brian Thomas Jr. also tied WR Randy Moss’ NFL rookie record of eight games with at least 60 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
Mac Jones finished with 174 yards and two TDs. Travis Etienne Jr. led the Jaguars’ rushing with 49 yards. Brian Thomas Jr. was the leading receiver with 91 yards and 1 TD. Today’s attendance was 61,995.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) – The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-11) lost to the New York Jets (4-10) at EverBank Stadium, 32-25. This marked Mac Jones’ first loss to the Jets after winning his first five games in his career against the team.
The Jaguars scored on their first drive of the game, with a 3 yard touchdown pass from QB Mac Jones to WR Brian Thomas Jr., with K Cam Little adding the extra point. On that play, Thomas also broke the team rookie record of 865 receiving yards, previously held by WR Justin Blackmon in 2012, as well as the franchise rookie record for receiving touchdowns of six, previously held by WR Allen Hurns in 2014. The Jets responded with a scoring drive that ended with a 22 yard touchdown pass by QB Aaron Rodgers to WR Garrett Wilson, followed by K Anderson Carlson’s XP. The score remained 7-7 at the end of the first quarter.

At the end of an eleven minute scoring drive, Cam Little kicked a 28 yard field goal late in the second quarter for the Jags. Little added another 23 yard field goal as the half ended, to put the team ahead 13-7 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Jaguars DT Jeremiah Ledbetter sacked Aaron Rodgers for a loss of 14 yards, and entertained fans with a celebratory backflip. While the play prevented a Jets touchdown, Anders Carlson did manage a 43 yard field goal on the next play. The Jaguars responded with Cam Little’s 43 yard field goal soon after. But Rodgers’ 1 yard touchdown pass to WR Davante Adams tied the game, and the XP by Carlson put the Jets ahead 17-16, which was the score at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth, Mac Jones found Brian Thomas Jr. in the end zone for a 19 yard touchdown pass. Their two point conversion attempt was incomplete, so the Jaguars pulled ahead 22-17. Anders Carlson missed a 48 yard field goal midway through the quarter. But Aaron Rodgers connected with Davante Adams for a 71 yard touchdown pass, and a two point conversion, to put the Jets ahead 25-22. But Cam Little’s 43 yard field goal tied the game at 25-25 with 1:51 remaining. But the Jets managed to score on a 1 yard touchdown run by RB Breece Hall, and the XP by Carlson. While the Jags had a chance to score, an interception ended their hopes. The final score was 32-25.
The Jaguars wore their “Prowler Throwback” jerseys in celebration of the team’s 30th season. The team debuted the ‘90s-inspired alternate uniform in week 5, when they beat the Colts 37-34.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is out for the remainder of the season, as he continues to recover from the concussion he suffered in week 13 by Texans’ LB Azeez Al-Shaair. Lawrence is also expected to undergo surgery on his non-throwing shoulder in the coming weeks.
Mac Jones finished with 294 yards and two TDs. Travis Etienne Jr. led the Jaguars’ rushing with 65 yards. Brian Thomas Jr. was the leading receiver with 105 yards and 2 TDs. Today’s attendance was 63,251.
The Jaguars head to Las Vegas to face the Raiders on Sunday, 12/22.
