Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association Announces Endorsements for 2024 Election Cycle

ORLANDO, Fla. (July 25, 2024) – Today, the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association’s (CFHLA) PAC and PC announced their third round of endorsements for the 2024 election cycle. This bipartisan slate of seven candidates includes several running for the Florida House, Orange and Osceola County Constitutional Offices, and the Seminole County Commission.
Endorsed Candidates:
Florida House of Representatives:
- District 26: Nan Cobb (R)
- District 40: LaVon Bracy Davis (D)
- District 46: Jose Alvarez (D)
Orange County:
- Supervisor of Elections: Karen Castor Dentel (D)
- Tax Collector: Scott Randolph (D)
Osceola County:
- Property Appraiser: Katrina Scarborough (D)
Seminole County:
- Commission, District 5: Andria Herr (R)
“CFHLA PAC and PC is proud to support this experienced and qualified group of bipartisan candidates in the upcoming 2024 election cycle,” said Jay Leonard, General Manager of the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs Resort Area, and Chairman of the CFHLA PAC and PC. “Each of these pro-hospitality candidates has fought for the tourism and hospitality industry throughout their public service and has an outstanding track record of problem solving and proven results for our Central Florida community.”

Willie DavidORLANDO, Fla. (FNN SPORTS) — A downtown Orlando parking garage adjacent to Kia Center has been renamed ThreatLocker Garage, marking an expanded partnership between the Orlando Magic and Central Florida-based cybersecurity company ThreatLocker.
Formerly known as the GEICO Garage, the ThreatLocker Garage is located directly across from Kia Center and features two entrances off South Street and Division Avenue.
ThreatLocker Expands Partnership With Orlando Magic
ThreatLocker, an Orlando-based leader in cybersecurity, continues to grow its partnership with the Orlando Magic through the garage naming and its role as a Champions of the Community (COTC) partner. The company also provides its market-leading Zero Trust Platform to help protect the Magic’s digital infrastructure.
“The Orlando Magic are thrilled to continue elevating its existing partnership with ThreatLocker,” said Charlie Freeman, president of business operations for the Magic. “As a leader in the cybersecurity space, we are excited to help grow their brand through the naming of the ThreatLocker Garage. Willie DavidEATONVILLE, Fla. (FNN) — Eddie Cole, a former Eatonville mayor, longtime coach, chaplain and community leader, has died at the age of 67, town officials confirmed.
Cole, widely respected for his dedication to public service and his influence in basketball, passed away just months after being inducted into the Rollins College Sports Hall of Fame.
In a statement, the Town of Eatonville remembered Cole as “a servant leader whose heart beat for the people of Eatonville.” Officials praised his compassion, leadership and unwavering commitment to the community’s progress.
“Mayor Cole’s compassion and commitment to progress will forever be etched in the heart of Eatonville,” the statement read. “We honor his life, leadership, and the indelible impact he made on generations past, present and future.”
Cole’s legacy spans decades of civic leadership, mentorship and faith-based service, leaving a lasting imprint on the town and those he guided on and off the court.
